GENESIS OF A GIANT
This weekend marks the one year anniversary of one of the worst tornadoes in Iowa history. 9 people died in the violent storm that swooped from the skies May 25th, 2008. As the author of the book “Un-Natural Disasters” which documents the details of this rare event, my family and I have been invited to attend remembrance ceremonies in Parkersburg. The community has graciously set up a spot where I can meet and talk with those impacted by the storm and answer questions about the tornadoes development and origens.
My booth is located in Miracle Park and is open to the public from 1-3pm. I will be selling and signing copies of Un-Natural Disasters with all proceeds donated to the restoration of the Miracle Park swimming pool. I am deepy honored that this community which suffered so much would include me in their celebration of life and spirit. Parkersburg and its resilient people will always hold a special place in my heart.
